Default Weird voltage readout

I have an '86 coupe and, all of a sudden, the digital readout for the voltage/coolant temp. is acting strange. The readout stays a 9.9v all the time. I can throw the switch over to coolant temp. and it will read the temp. for less than a minute then automatically return to a 9.9v readout. Also, there is a red bar to the left of the readout that is lite. I assume that's telling me the voltage is low. I've put a volt meter across the battery with the car running and the alternator seems to be charging 14+ v, so I don't think thats the problem.

Any suggestions?

It is time to send the cluster to a service center. You might consider unplugging the cluster and replugging it back in and see if this cleans the connector contacts and corrects your problem. More info at www.batee.com

The digital readouts of Volts, Oil Temp and Coolant Temp will switch to display the one that is outside of the normal range. Your volts at 9.9 is outside the normal range so the display is programmed to show this.

thats what I thought about the voltage reading; however, the battery is fully charged. Also, I am getting a constant 72lbs oil pressure, and 170degree oil temperature reading. Thats along with the constand 125degrees coolant temperature and 9.9v battery. the crazy thing is I parked the car 2 weeks ago and everything was working fine. Started it up today and am getting these crazy readings.

A car battery will drain if the car isn't used, even for a few weeks. Try hooking up a battery charger. The alternator should not be used to charge a weak battery.

The battery did need charged, so I put the charger on it and got it up to 13.05v. The readout is still 9.9v
