I agree. *knock on wood* My Bose system has been excellent since I purchased my 95 2 years ago. Someone asked me one time, "Do you have a couple of tens in there?"
I haven't seen the convertible lock cover trim mentioned yet. Easy to smack that little plastic triangle with your hip as you get in and out and the two plastic studs are almost guaranteed to snap off. Then the weatherstrip and trim pieces start flopping around. Oh yeah, and replacements aren't available for 88's and 89's. That and the top strip along the door panel that is so easy to mess up.
Of course, these two little items don't even begin to compare to the happiness that comes from driving it. They're just minor annoyances that give me little projects to keep me out of trouble.
Oh yeah,I forgot one other think,The darned Whole Hood release system,You shouldn't have to buy a special tool for opening the hood,I've had bunches of old cars and never had a problem opening the hoods,it's rediculous.
3)Why is there 6 inches of clear space inbetween the engine and the radiator, yet the rear of the engine is slammed up against the firewall making everything back there difficult to get to? Front/Rear weight distribution
4)Why do you have to lift the passenger side wheel well skirt to change the front 2 plugs on that side? You don't have to
5)Who thought it was a good idea to run the fuel lines next to the jacking points of the car? I agree, WTF.
I rarely see a C4 with decent weatherstripping there on BOTH windows. And it's PITA to find the GM replacement rubber and open the doors up to replace them.
Ok. I read everbody's complaints and kept thinking what could I add to the list. And I came up with nothing, nil, none. Love mine, drive it everday and drive it hard. Heck it is near 13 years old, almost 200,000 miles now and runs great, handles terrific, no problems at all and even the Boise works and sounds great (after a Dr Don tune-up of course).
Sorry guys, guess I am just one happy camper!
Funny... I love the bose... especially the refurbished one I just received from Docter Dons.....
Greetz,
Raymond
chances are most of these stereos are shot once people get ahold of the cars. Doctor Don did my head unit and all 4 amps, it rattles the mirrors now...........
I cannot stand the "hooks" that hold the rear cargo cover in place. It just does not work. I saw that Ecklers sells something that holds the cover in place. Does this work? Anyone have one of these?
I cut a shory piece of tubing and slid it over the ends of the shaft. It fits nice and snug now.
