I always try to wave, but I do notice at certain times it's hard to - if you are in heavy morning traffic doing 75 in the middle lane, and another vette goes by you the opposite way, it's probably not going to happen for either guy. And sometimes, heck you just don't see the other guy.
But if I see him, I wave, and if they wave back great. If not, well... I feel dorky but that's okay
I just got my "new-to-me" '94 and took a friend for a ride. She has an '06. She mentioned that I missed "waving" at 4 other corvettes on the road. I didn't even see them, and I KNOW to wave, due to past experiences, but I was too enamored with the drive. Just assume those people were too busy doing other things.
I got waved at this morning by a C6 driver. Have had lots of waves from C5 drivers as well. It is a little hit and miss though. I think it is like some others have said, it depends on whether they notice you. I have passed a lot of Vettes and didn't notice until it was too late to give a wave. They probably thought I was a smug C4 driver.
Too bad he didn't stop to talk. You could've asked him how a 20 year old gets $80,000 to buy a car.
I figure one of three things, Mommy/Daddy, inheritence, or, selling dime bags..............................I think I will go with the last of the three choices

You don't have to be rich to drive a new Z06. You just have to have good credit and be stupid enough to go for a $1,000/mo car payment.

That must be at 72 months, with money down, and 0.0% financing. I like having a roof over my head, a garage to keep it in, and having a new daily driver along with my C4. So thats way out of my league, and I make decent money.
Now if I lived at home with my parents, didn't have children, etc., etc., well then.................maybe.

When I got my Corvette, I didn't know about the wave thing for about 2 weeks. I couldn't figure out why people were waving at me. After I found out about the wave, I felt pretty stupid.
I bought my first vette 2 months ago. I never knew there was a wave associated with any type of car. I've been riding motorcyles for about 10 - 12 years, I wave to Harley's and all other biles. I now notice vettes on coming and I look forward to seeing if they're going wave back. "Save the Wave". It's brings a smile to me, knowing that I'm looking at his vette, and he's looking at mine.
