I always heard the C3 "Shark" is the most attractive body stlye corvette designed. I think all of the vettes have superior body design. Each year has its own highlights. I love the C4's. The C6's still carry the same principle design as the orignal C1. Which is your favorite generation????
Have had both, I still kind of wish I had my 1980. It had a nice 350hp motor (not stock) but the car looked all stock.........until you were sitting next to it, the cam always gave it away

that each generation has its own highlights. With that being said, I do not have a favorite generation. However, I can tell you that I do not like the 53-55 models.

I have had cars from each generation and love them all. Currently have one from each of the 1st 4 generations. My favorite is the C2. I have had my 65 for 35 years and love the styling, ride and performance.
C1's get all the looks. Not real comfortable and don't handle well.
C3's have great lines. Love the early big blocks. (Not a big fan of the years from 73 to 82)
C4's Great handling cars and tremendous value right now.
C5's are fast and comfortable.
C6 great car to drive. Mine was an electrical nightmare.
I've only owned two vettes in my life so I doubt that I'm offering a valid opinion.....but my first was a 72 LT-1 A/C T-top.....man I loved that car! I still have a very soft spot in my heart for the steel bumper sharks, specially the LT-1!
Now I have a C4 and let me say that it is light years ahead of my LT-1....I can even use the A/C in B to B traffic! Try that in my LT-1 and the temp gauge would make the boggey man scared! And I can jump on it with the A/C on and not worry about throwing the A/C belts....okay there's only one belt but the C4 is just such a better car and the ZR-1 part don't hurt either!
FWIW, I'd bet a C5 or C6/ZO6 would make me smile too!
Tom
white '70 with black interior. LT1 with muncie 4-speed. factory sidepipes. azz-kickin'. cuz it was my brother's, thats what turned me on to corvette when i was a wet-faced 11 year old.
After owning C3's and now a C4, you are comparing apples and oranges. The C3 has more personality, hands down. Nothing like a SB or BB V8 that shakes the entire car and the hood profile is something that you would never forget. The C3 also gets much more attention. The C4 on the other hand is much more refined, more fun to drive, much more comfortable, and actually much less expensive to operate! Love them both, just two different animals.
Oh, my favorite is a 67 427 Vert 4 speed L88. Waaaaay out of my price range!!
I've owned a 77 and now own a 95. I will always love the C3 body style the best, but the C4 has really grown on me, and I like it a lot. It is more fun to drive too. But the C3 has a special place in the ol' heart, and I love to see them drive by.
I went thru the C1-2-3-4's the C4 is the 1st real Corvette where it does everything well.
GM fianally got it right.
C1's where trucks.
C2's dangerous in the rain.
C3's same.
C4's weather doesn't faze them at all.
C5's over complicated.
C6 too small.
