Default A bad C4 move???

Is this a bad move??? My neighbor Nick has a beauty of a C4 its a torch red coupe 1996 LT1 with only 20k original miles. Hes thinking of trading it in on a 1998-1999 C5 with 15k miles. Is this a bad move. I mean you have a perfect C4 with no issues and you are looking at this C5 that you dont really know about. Wouldnt you guys just hang on to the C4??? I mean 20k miles is nothing. Is this a bad move on his part???
Is it worth it??

I guess it depends on what he will get for the 96 and what he will pay for the C5. But if it were me........I'd keep the 96. History tends to favor the last model year of a body style i.e. 67 vs. 68, 82 vs. 84......

Just my Opinion

I'd keep the known factor, the C4.

Sounds like he doesn't drive it much, so what's the difference sitting in the garage?

The C5 is vastly superior. I wouldn't think twice.

Totally! 96 was the last and most refined of the C4s. Then the 97 C5 with very limited production, followed by 98 and 99s with some new model gremlins. At least their roofs did not fly off, but a few other issues might exist. Then again I guess it depends upon what he wants to park in his garage and look at, wash, not drive, etc.

Neither one is a prime investment, the C5 will be faster, quieter, get better mileage, etc...he won't wear either one out in his lifetime, have him drive the C5 and decide! My wife prefers the style of her '96, I like the speed and comfort of my C5.

That's the point. He already has a clean, low mile, last year, etc. but he's at a dealer. Wholesale for his, retail for theirs.

Not to start a war, but I've worked on enough C5's for me to keep my C4 The electronics in particular are a nightmare.

Then there's the looks
