I just replaced the A/C - Idler bracket and I had to remove the heater hose resulting in some lost coolant. After reconnecting the heater hose, I filled the radiator to the top and drove the car about 5 miles. The coolant temperature initially stayed in the 200 - 220 range, finally stabilizing at 190, and then the "low coolant" indicator lit. How do I top off the radiator to fill the system?
Most have a plastic overflow/reservoir in front of the front right tire under the hood, a small hose from just under the rad cap goes into it. It has a cold and hot level line. Add coolant here as required, might take 2 or 3 top ups. I had to top it up, drive it for a few minutes to circulate and warm up to open the thermostat, top up and repeat 2 more times. Filling up at the rad cap isn't going to get the level high enough.
If this isn't the cause, then you might start looking for a coolant leak.
Hope that helps.

Reason: incorrect info
1)Remove rad cap
2)run engine till thermostat opens and coolant is flowing through rad.
3)reach over and hold throttle till you have a steady 2000 rpm(roughly).
4)while holding throttle, fill rad and then cap it.
5)release throttle.
If you have really, really short arms. Get a helper to work the gas pedal.
