not like the other poor dumb fool here recently that got rid of his C4 and spent a choke-whopping $35k for some fugly fat heavy dodge hemi (who gives a crap about a hemi, it ain't a hemi).
a 350Z is a real sports car.
I'm not going to lie, its alot more fun that I expected it to be when I took one for a test drive. I guess I underestimated them, because it has plenty of power and is just as fun to drive as the c4. Oh but the A/C works about 10x better.
It is a very nice car - seems like no one has knocked your choice yet, which is good My brother has a G35 and my cousin had a 350...very nice car to drive, nice creature comforts. I think the c4 has a more sports car feel, for me at least. I have a Nissan Xterra as my DD, so I am a fan of their products. You'll be back in a corvette soon enough

I just checked with my attorney...he says there's no law against owning both, and while you're enjoying the new Z for now, you'll be thinking about the C4 later, kinda like your first love in high school...you've been smitten LOL
I had a '72 Datsun 240z for a couple of years as my fun car. I finally sold it because I was tired of working on it. With the 2 nearly worn-out SU1 carbs, it took as much time tuning and balancing as it did driving.

Mine wasn't much iether, engine blew, bad brakes, no grunt, got rid of it just before the engine went. The old cars weren't very good.
Personally I'd rather have a Corvette.
The resale on the 350z and the Honda 2000 isn't pretty.
I got a 300ZX Turbo when they totally revamped them from the 280 in 1984...it was a great car...had it 5 years and put a battery in it is all...it had a 5 speed but when that turbo spooled up 1st gear lasted about 1/2 second..lol...
I have a 93 as my play car now and it is set up for the drag strip...I love racing it and still drive it on the street to and from events...I raced a 350Z at a test n tune recently...I didn't think too much of it when we lined up since I have raced a few of them before and it was no contest with me winning...well, we took off and I hole shotted him badly...then I heard this ungodly whine and, at about 330' he went by me like I was stopped!...I had a good view of what he ran since he was so far ahead of me...lol...he went 11.06 in the 1/4 and trapped 134mph..oooh daddy did he blow me away...I went up to him in the staging lanes afterwards and his hood was up...nothing but big fat shiny pipes running all over the place and two big ole turbo's...he told me he was making right at 600 rwhp but could not get off the line with his standard suspension...I asked him why he hadn't modded that given what he had in the motor and he said because the car ws still his daily driver...sheesh...
Moral of the story is: throw a turbo on that 350 and you be kickin' serious butt including vette's...
Will do. I hope to get a C5 for my next car. Look out in the next week or so, I'm going to start selling off all the c4 parts I have laying around the house.
I need some parts count me IN , congrats on the 350z that would have been my choice as well
I used to have a 85 300Z. One day I did a 360 spin in a light rain. Sold the car shorltly after that. Did not want the wife to get hurt. Thank god for the GM's traction control technology. It is okay to have a sports car that deliver a lot of power to the raer end with out loosing control. I hope the new nissans have traction control.

I just got tired of working on it every weekend. It was taking up too much of my time, too many things that didnt work like they should, and it wasn't getting any more valuable with all the money I was funneling into it. I still love c4s, and hope to own another one some day, but I needed a daily driver that was more reliable and better built. I bought a 350z. Flame suit is on now...
I can relate...100%
I had a chance to break even on my 85, and took advantage of it. I'm amazed that a 22 year old car outhandles my new toy, but also very happy that I found a car that I was able to buy for less than "trade-in" value, and in the end, with zero out of pocket expense.
I enjoyed my stay here, learned a lot from a lot of good people, and may return one day as an owner instead of a lurker....Nice car BTW.

Newer Nissans do have TCS. The Z cars could always get a little tail happy especially in the rain...very similar to the vette.
