You won't feel a difference. You'll have to drill a hole in your airbox. And then you end up with unsightly extension wires running from the the back of the plenum, all the way to your air box upfront. All in plain view.
No no no. It doesnt work. It is called in Manifold Air Temperature sensor for a good reason, and that is cause it belongs in the manifold, not in the air box.
It could potentially tell the ECM that the air passing through the intake manifold is cooler than it really is, in which case it adds more fuel cause it thinks it needs it, and it runs on the rich side.
If the ECM is properly tuned you wont need to go moving these sensors around.
I relocated mine as it sticks up really badly in front of the back runner in the plenum. I don't think the wires stick out and look unsightly, you can run them as nice and hidden as you would like.
it helps if you need the extra vac. port on aftermarket intakes. However to make it right you would really need to recailbrate the MATvs.MAT tables (SD, 727/730 ecm) in your tune. The tune will not be consistent and will tend to change as the temperature (especially seasonally) becomes hot, cold etc.(ie.richer or leaner)
