Default White Wheels

As you all may already know, i've been thinking of toying with the overall look of my vette. Nothing set in stone, just kind of brainstorming. I was just going to add this post to my previous " Racing Stripe on an Aqua" thread, but the thread has already been locked.

After seeing Riks40th's car a few times on the forum, I kept thinking to myself, "How would white wheels looks on my Aqua?" Well, after doing this quick photochop of Riks40th's wheels, I don't think my car looks too bad with them on. I think the car would look great with white wheels and a white GS stripe. I think the white wheels give the car a fresher look, but I also think the chrome wheels make the aqua color pop out a bit more.

Like all of us , in the end i'll do what I want with my car, but it's always interesting hearing your opinions on things like this.

Comparison pics:

Opinions?

and Seth, if you're reading this...... yes, I know i ought to get bushings and other stuff first, i'm just brainstorming here.

I have seen white a-molds on a few red c4s before and loved the look, those white a-molds sure do look good on yours as well.

I dunno - I think the chrome sawblades look terrific on your car. If it was me, I'd leave 'em on.

I like the chrome as well. I think it brings out the color of your car more and it sure is a pretty color.

I'm inclined to agree although I wouldn't mind seeing a chop of your car w/ the Black GS wheels w/ the polished lip.

I'd stay with your Chrome wheels, it looks better than the white wheels.

I hate the sawblades, but I like the chrome look as well with the aqua color. The white looks better on solid shades of color. The aqua has a nice deep color to it and the white wheel, while I like the idea, and it may look better on a more flash shade of blue, I think some kind of chrome/polished alumn wheels would make the car stand out WAY better than white. It makes the car look kind of flat colored instead of the deep color it has with the shiney chrome.

Perhaps just pickup some chrome or polished alumn C5/C6 wheels. that would make it stand out just as nice and give it a new look.

I am considering white wheels for mine as well, but my car is already a flat white color anyway, so it won't detract from anything since white is not a "deep or shiney" color.

Wow, thanks for using my car as an example. :o
First off, I think your car looks great with the chrome sawblades. Chrome wheels look great on that aqua.
Now IMO, unless you add a white stripe or white interior, or both, I wouldn't put white wheels on your Vette. It just seems like you have to have more white on the car than just the wheels. The only reason I considered putting them on mine was because I have white interior.
I will also add, these wheels are a pain in the *ss to keep clean. But it's worth the extra cleaning.

Wow, I thought everyone would be more receptive on the white wheel change. GIJoe, Riks40th, what you guys say makes perfect sense, and I do agree with everyone who would say that chrome shows works better with the aqua, and that white wheels may be better suited for a little bit differnt color/tone rather than my aqua metallic. Aqua is a tough color to work with , but i don't think the white wheels look all that bad. In my eyes, I'm limited as to what i can successfully match with it. Fortunately, I would never put white wheels on without adding more white to the the rest of the car. If i ever put white wheels on my car, there will be a 100% chance that I'll at least put on a white racing stripe as well.

The aqua paint has way too much charactor to be saddled with white wheels. Yuck.
