Harding Console Shift Plate
Well I screwed up and broke the lid on my console shift plate on my '94, so I reorder a new one. I say reordered because it was broke when I bought the car, and I replaced it back then.
But here is my question. When I got the first one, it was tacky to the feel, but I painted it and it worked fine except it seems to scrach easily. Does anyone have an idea how I could make the surface harder and resistant to scratches?

The new one should not feel tacky.You may want to spray a clear coat of polyureathane over it if you paint it.I would ask first at a local body shop for their opinion.
