Default back up lights

Okay dumb question..where the heck are the back up lights on a '95? Are they the lights near the license plate? Had reason to back up last night in total darkness and realized for the first time, I had no lights...YIKES

Yeah, next to the tail lamps.

If your car is a 6 speed the switch that activates them is notorious for going out.

Check the fuse first.

No problem!

FYI if it is the switch, it is screwed into the transmission, on the drivers side, behind the slave cylinder.

And the switch is expensive

I hope its a fuse or bulbs for you, and not a switch like mine

There are also backup lights next to each rear side marker lamps that come on when in Reverse. They are tied into the same circuit as the backup lights so if they don't work, it's either a fuse (check here first!) or the switch down at the tranny.

does anyone have a picture of the switch location or tell me where the fuse is? I have the same problem and I'm completely lost on this one.

BTW, How much is "expensive" for the switch?

If an auto the switch is in the shift console. Fuse panel is visible if you open the passenger door and look at the side of the dash.

Check the fuse first.
Hope this helps.
