PassKey Problem
I replaced my battery in my 96's key fob but I cannot get the car to go into the mode where it will learn a new fob. I leave the fob way out of range then put the key in the ignition, turn it to on, push trip odo twice and then fold the fuel button like the books says to do but the light never starts flashing. I thought I was doing it wrong, but I tried it on my new to me 94 ZR1 and it worked like advertised. Is there anything else that could be wrong with the system, maybe a fuse or something?

Do you hear the "dinging" sound? If you don't have a "ding" it won't go into the program mode. I tried on my '93 and it started to program, but then it didn't.

I think it only starts to ding when I put the key in the off position. But prior to that it should turn the light on in the DIC. When you turn to off on my 94 it starts to ding and the light flashes indicating it will accept a fob.
