how most ppl don't see a generation they just see a CORVETTE. When I take the c-4 any where they just stare or say
car. When I was in Branson last weekend ppl made comments abought how much corvettes cost and one man told his grandson he could buy two of his car for what that CORVETTE cost
. He had no idea it was a 1995 all he saw was CORVETTE. So I'm just proud to own a CORVETTE nomatter what gen.
By the way I'm buying a c-3 next week.

If most non Corvette people knew what I paid for mine, included restoring it, they would probably be shocked.
By the time I get mine back together, minus paint, I'll probably have less than $4000 invested. Including the purchase price of the car.
But you're right. It's the 'awe' and 'mystery' of the Vette that makes it
to own.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
A friend of mine came over to my house driving a brand new Yukon.
I said, "Damn, you can't hide money".
He said, "Yeah, and you have a Corvette in the garage".
Little did he know, my Corvette was several THOUSANDS less than what he paid for his ride.
You are right, they see the word "Corvette" and they think $$$$$.
Exactly why I am playing with a Vette again!
Comments such as " We are paying people waaaay to much" etc. Of course, I told him I only paid a 1/4 of what he did for his '04 Mach I.
After that, we had to go out and inspect it, so he was satisfied it was a 90 instead of a 02 or something newer.
I still get the occasional 'Corvette' comment from him, so I guess old preconceptions are hard to break.
Here in Australia, the corvette really IS an expensive car, Crappy condition C4's go for $20,000, Good condition C4's $35-45,000, ZR-1's go for $70,000+ and your new Z06... well I haven't seen one in a dealer, but there is one 2nd hand for sale going for $220,000.
so when someone gives you a hard time about buying a vette here... its because you really HAVE blown the budget big time.I get so jealous reading your posts when they are related to the cost, you are certainly lucky lucky people
If I see a corvette during regular driving I consider myself lucky as sightings are usually 1-2 years apart. My C3 got as many stares as an Alien in drag, my C4 will too
