Determine Build Date
I have a 94 LT1. I was under the understanding that the 94 still had the original, typically called "unvented" Opti dist. I've seem on other sites that the change from Opti I to the vented Opti II was a midyear 1994 change. Can anyone confirm this? If so, how can I determine the build date on my car and could anyone guess how a 94 owner would easily see which Opti they have?

A "rough" build date (month and year) is printed on the tag on the trailing edge of the drivers door. I've heard the story of the mid year Opti change over too, but so far have never seen a 94 with the new style. As 96polovette indicated visual inspection is the only sure way to know.
