Default Electrical Phenomena

Here's the situation: When I turn off the engine and go to get out of car, the radio and other interior components are still powered up. As you know they are supposed to turn off when the door is opened. Another issue is since interior is powered up, alarm will not turn on. Any suggestions???

hmm , I don't think it's the door switches as the radio stays on. Could be ignition switch (do the gauges/DIC stay on, or just radio? lights?), at least with this limited info that is my best guess.

Gauges and display all turn off. It's just radio, lights, windows that are still on. I also thought it may have something to do with door switches, but I was hoping someone would have had this happen and would know the fix.

Next time it happens, go open the passengers door. If it goes off, it's the drivers switch. I had the same problem and a little WD-40 to the door switch solved the problem. The '94s have a delayed exit feature that allows the operation of the radio, window switches, and certain accessories after you shut the key off until a door is opened.

Delay is 15 minutes, if you don't open a door - any door.

Stop car, turn off ignition, get someone to open the passenger door - if radio stops etc you know that door switch is ok. Do the same with the drivers door - for all indications it looks like it's that one.
