It is a sensor. It is not wireless. It requires a wire. If you are not getting a low coolant light, someone probably removed the bulb.

Hmmm so how can you tell? I am not getting any low coolant light on my 84 vette. Where do I find the wire in the engine bay? I only had this car for a year and I am tottally a Newbie. Thanks

The clamp on the sensor amuses me.I have never seen a low coolant sensor clamped on. Usually they are threaded into the radiator as far as I knew. You have to have a wire under there somewhere that isnt connected and is long enough to reach that area. Probably coming out of a wire loom close by.

Do any of you guys have a picture of your wire going to this sensor so I can get an idea where to find the wire. Thanks

It is usually a green wire with a funny looking thing on the end that is a push in and lock into the radiator after you remove the push in and lock that is in the radiator now.The wire should e around the pass side up front where the head lights are.I would believe someone cut it off because they coundn't figure out what it was.
