when to replace the leaf spring?
I did a search, but only got two threads that mentioned the leaf spring and only one that was a question about delamination, with no replies.
I noticed today, when I stuck my head under the car, that one of my rear leaf springs is delaminating. The car's a 1996 with 63xxx miles on it. I wondered, should I start thinking about replacing the leaf springs? How much delaminated is too delaminated before breaking?

I got an whopping 34K miles from the factory till it was time to replace mine!
Of course, since according to GM its supposed to last forever, I clearly must have run over some large objects repeatedly....in reverse

I made a bow and arrow out of mine, and use it to shoot cats. Hopefully it lasts forever, there are never too many dead cats.

Yeah, but then you have to dispose of the cat, and the parts store / toilet / public sewer don't except cats.
(The storm drain system does though).

They work best if you turn it around. Try it sometime.
