Default what would ya all do?

Every time I want to buy a Corvette, I dont have any money, but I just sold a spec house and have $60,000 in my checking account. So do I buy a 95-96 C4 or a 2002 C5, or a 2004 Cobra or pay off my vacation home at the lake?

Buying another house is getting old I still have 4.
Houses make you money, but they'er a lot of work and renters suck.

Im kinda leaning toward the C4........www.craigslist.org
Life is a bitch.

reb, i'm with you in terms of keeping $$ and making investments.

i agree, houses suck, renters suck, and the legal system sucks. people suck. f 'em all.

this might be ones of those times where you reward yourself with a nice car, and pay for it in cash of course.

i'd go for the C5 - but only if its Z06. no compromises there, so wait for the opportunity. i'd then do a bolt-on or two, and be done with it. and keep it for many years. and drive it hard, regularly.

Yes life sucks, But with your outlook a C4 would be an embarrassment for you to drive, C4's are alot of work, and I rent because I would rather work on my C4 than on the house. ( I have had houses, but I gave them away...long story). I believe you are so full of BS that you are looking to p**s people off.

I already have a C4, so I'd go for the C5.

I've got my eye on an '07 Black ZO6, $8k off list, but still $71k.

Just too much $$$$

Am I missing something? Senior Member, does't know what to look for??
Brad Paisley..ONLINE..Maybe His spell checker doesn't work. $8000 would get you a decent C4 if all you wanted was a Vette. If you have 60K to spend buy a Beemer and DON'T Wave

Red, I'm gonna take a different approach than most here. If you plan on keeping the vacation home, I would pay it off. With that debt out of your way you can save to buy anything you want....I hate debt....

If you like the older c4's then buy a c4.

Other wise buy a c5 They are nice!

if money is an issue and will be,

buy a nice c4 for 10k, and you can still have your money

Mustangs are for boys

wow, nice black zr1 there, touring.

I'll throw in another thought. Prices are coming down (either fortunately or unfortunately) on lots of different models of Corvettes. That includes the first year of the C6--the '05s. I realize that's heresy to say here on this forum, but I'll just throw it out there (and watch it sinkkkkkkk....... ).

If you're renting houses in the Santa Cruz region and you have four, you're golden. Buy whatever car you want.

Redwing, I have this problem about bragging about wealth. You're a person that knows about vettes, but talks about the money in your bank and what should I buy. I'm not trying to put you down, but this board is about a wealth of knowledge and not about personal weath. If you want to talk real estate, I have a house going on the market that would put an Enzo in my garage but that's not the point. I Just would just say I have $60k to buy a car, what should I do? I don't mean to dictate to you but that might offend people. This board is not just local. Some of us only paid half of what you're talking about for homes. I wish you luck in your conquest. I

If you do decide to get a C4. Don't settle for any year less than a 94. The 94-96 are much nicer cars than the earlier ones. Just an opinion from someone whom has owned 5 different C4's.

I'd do half and half. I'd get a cheap C4 and mod the heck out of it until you got it to about 20K completed then I'd put the other 20K into your house. Equity is awsome and you can always borrow against it if you need to. Just a thought. Also if you gave me 20K and told me what you wanted the vette to do I'd promise you could make it into exactly what you wanted as long as the request is reasonable. Just a thought.....

This has nothing to do with this board. Send him to a real estate board,

Beep, I wish I could help out, but I run a very small medical design operation business. If I take on anyone else I would have to sell My Vette. My best of luck to you.

Well I have a C3 & C4. Great cars. Been looking at the C6. If it where meI think that is the direction I would go. Skip the cobra. Rent a vacation spot. Drive there in the new C6.
