1987 automatic door locks

1987 automatic door locks
anyone know if you can disable the auto locks on a 87 convertible, every time i start the car it locks the doors?

That must be an after market item. The 87 didn't come with that feature.

Does the car have an aftermarket alarm system? Do you have a keyfob of some sort?

The locks work independently of the ignition. Must be either a short or a mod of some sort. I don't see why an alarm system would be wired that way.
Newer cars will lock the doors when you put it into gear but your saying they lock when you turn the key?
Also, have they always done this or did this just start happening?

It has an alarm system, however i don't belive it should be doing that. Basically i started the car and shut the door and as you guessed it locked me out. So not sure why its doing that maybe i will disable the alarm and it might be ok after that. \ and someone mentioned that 87 should not have auto door locks, maybe that the issue

The only thing weird i've seen the locks do is cycle through as in lock then unlock but nothing like this. Sounds like the previous owner wired it up that way or something.
