Default deck release

The rear deck release on my 90 convertible is stuck on one side. When I push the release button to release the deck, the left side releases, but the right side does not. I can hear the noise when I push the release button, but no movement of the latch.

Is there a mechanical release? I have not experienced any problems in the past, just all of a sudden. I cannot see anything that might have lodged the latch.

Thanks for any input.

manual release is here on my 95. I'm not sure if it's the same on a 90. it probably just needs some grease. After 17 years grease tends to becomes thick and stops doing it's job.

Might also be a misalignment or the latch is out of adjsutment. Have somebody push down on that side while you hit the button. Then have them pull up on the decklid.

On my 02, the manual release was under the driver's side of the decklid, just behind the shoulder belt tower. You may have to feel around for the latch handle or maybe check the passenger side, but there is a manual release under the lid.
