Default Tire size.

Ok Im putting new 5 spoke rims on my 95.
The rear will be 18 x 9.5 and front 17 x 9.5.
What I need to know is the largest tire I can use without clearance problems.
I have Pilot Sports on now and very happy with them.

for the front I would go with 275/45R17, the rear 285/35R18, but I'm really no expert

275/40 17 was what came on the 9.5 x 17 wheels.

Also, be carefull that the tires are close in tire height. If not ABS and ASR are not happy, they will disable.

Check out powerdog.com. Look at tire size information. You can put in different tire sizes and it will calculate the height difference in percent for you. Very cool for upsizing, or doing something different.

My Pilot XG4's last about a year or 20,000 miles, I'll be due for some new rear ones soon, the fronts have 45,000 miles that I know of, don't know how many before I bought the car.
Why two sets of rears in two years:
