Default Brake Problems

I was out driving and all of the sudden my brakes almost completely stopped working, they still stop but the pedal is way down. I checked the fluid it isn't low, it looks like it needs to be changed though. I was thinking it might be the master cylinder?

Wow, so this keeps repeating to corvette owners everywhere and the only thing I usually hear is:
Soft Pedal = master cylinder
Hard Pedal = Booster

Problem is that changing master cylinder, flushing, new pads etc has not helped. Problem always finds the way back.

Hope you find a solution to your problem soon.
I have found that flushing the system works a little on my car.

If the master cylinder is full (which means no leaks in the system), the master would be the logical assumption if it's a spongy pedal. I'm not quite sure on any adjustments in the rear calipers that would cause a low pedal, maybe someone else might know the answer to that. Good luck...

I'd guess the master cylinder. You need to bench bleed the new one.

...here is a link worth reading......sounds like you m/c took a dump...but BEFORE you invest in a m/c, pull the wheels off and check for leaks at the brake calipers as well as at the m/c, especially at the rear of teh m/c where it attaches to the booster!

A small leak at one of the calipers can get all over the back of those big ole tires and never even make it to the ground where you can see it early on.
