Default Headers for my C4

Can any of you guys tell me if there are some ceramic headers for my L98 1991 convertable. no one seems to have any except Headman but they are not ceramic. i have heard that if you install none ceramic coated headers the heat will destroy your starter

My headers are non ceramic... been on for two years and my starter is fine.

It is recommended to use ceramic coated headers. Hedmen Elites are one, a very popular alternative is hooker. TPiS make a nice set as well.
Do a search and you will find a lot of great info on headers.

I'm not sure if ecklers have there own ground effects or not. But mine are Mold Kraft which are the same as greenwood except for GW's logo.

I have Hedmans on my 91. Hedman calls their ceramic coated headers "thermal coated". I believe they call them the "Elite Series". Mine had the air tubes on them so I didn't have to lose the air pump although now I'm sorry cause I would like to unclutter the engine compartment by removing the air pump and all the crap that goes along with it. You might have to add an o2 bung for the oxygen sensor, I put mine in the collector, it worked out fine there.

Have you looked at the Hedman Elites (68448)? They are "thermal" coated but they aren't as thick as the Hedman Headers that are ceramic coated (68446)

Summit Racing has both types for under $400.

Hooker 2149 or TPiS are what I recommend, and yes coated headers will be better for everything in the engine bay, not just the starter. If they are out of stock then wait for them.

TPiS has very nice headers hefty flanges that don't warp or leak. As for coated headers and starters I don't know. This I do know the extra heat will dry out crack and shrink wire insulation.
