Yea, this is a little odd... but I've noticed that it is much, much easier to drink a 12 oz can of Caffine Free Diet Coke than the 20 oz bottle...
1)I can't finish the bottle because it hits the targa.
2)The bottle won't quite fit in the drink holder.
3)It's a pain messing with the bottle cap while trying to shift and stuff.
Other than when driving the vette, I'd prefer the 20 oz every time (more is better).
1-Remove or notch out targa
2-Drill out drink holder
3-wine cork
4- sell the vette and by an suv
True, I don't have those problem in my suv (except the bottle cap issue-it's a 5 spd also). Most of the convenience stores I frequent don't carry my preferred beverage in a can.
I don't let anybody drink cans in my Vette. Only bottles, so they can screw the top on and keep it on. It wont fit in the cup holder, but it fits inbetween the seat and the center console.
It's a pain in the *** to open the bottle top, yes, but it's easer than cleaning up after a spill. I don't let anybody eat or drink in the Vette, unless it's a narrow top bottle with a lid (no gatorade, cans, etc), and it doesn't leave crumbs (Fruity snacks only).

i found out the hard way with my coffee mug on my way out of the garage the other day that when i put my 93 6 speed in reverse it knocks whatever is in the cup holder all over the seat and carpet. a lesson learned the hard way (cuz im an idiot)

Why are you drinking in your corvette?! I'm just playing its your car, I usually dont drink or eat in it unless i'm starving and have no choice but to grab a quick bite.
I get enough, but my Vette isn't my daily driver. I don't HAVE to take people in it often, so when I do take it out and someone else is in it, it's an issue of respect. Every time I get into someone else's car, I always ask them if it's ok to drink in it.
I'll buy someone a bottled drink if they don't have one, it's not a big deal to me. But spilled soda is.
No plastic seat covers, no toothbrush to the A/C, but I do keep it cleaned regularly (at least wash and wax once a month, usually more often depending on when I drive it, california duster when I take it out, cover if it's out of the garage overnight, etc). Just because I take good care of it doesn't mean I baby it.
bottles. i just bring along the case i bought the beer in, and replace empty beers in empty space in the case as i drive along, problem solved.
as for eating, smoking, blowing a nut, etc. anyone can do that in my car anytime. since the few passengers i've had seem to complain about jerked back necks and loudness, i don't bother letting them in anymore so i've not had too much to think about in that arena.
