Opti Spark
I know this is one topic that never goes away and i have read all of the old post.. But i posted a thread bout my car acting up..Any way I am about 95% sure its the opti.. So any of you who have had a bad opti did it have a hard time starting? mine seem to be getting worse as the days go by, now it wont hardly start.. and man when it does its running like crap!

that doesn't mean that its shot. its a distribtor and they need service, but because of where they live they rarely get it.
might be just a cap and rotor. replacing it means (the whole unit) a new water pump, the opti, and for good luck new plug wires.
might as well do the plugs also.
GM strikes, but its an a engineering master-piece that fails on a regular bases.
Have it checked out.

Well Update guys I went out today I guess i was wrong the water pump is leakin, there is a puddle of wate under the car and i see some water around the pass. side of the water pump so i guess now i m 100% sure its the opti.. Thanks for all your comments and help....

Hey, it you gots a laptop, download Datamaster (look it up here) and see what kind of codes you get.
Are you mechanical? I've got a 94 with about 95 K on it and I don't know if the opti has been replaced or not-the CCM has-it's got the repo sticker on it, so it's not org.
If you gots cold beer and a place to sleep, I'd think about coming up and helping.
