Default Engine Install with headers on?

Hey,

So, I spun a couple of bearings over the summer and have built a 383. I pulled the motor with the hood on with out any trouble. I had the headers off for the removal.

Now that its time to go back in, is it possible to get it in with the headers on? I have a spreader/leveler that I can get a bunch of tilt out of.

If it will go with the headers on, is there any issue with access to the mounts or bell housing bolts?

Thanks.

Dave

Easiest way is to leave headers laying on the floor under the car. When you get the engine just about in, you bolt the headers on. Drop the engine all the way in and bolt in to the frame.

Long tube or shorties?

Long tube- nearly impossible
Shoties- easy

This is the best solution, I tried it on my '85, (long tubes) and it was a no go. I removed one and tried it again, still no go.

What LayZ said. It may be possible but would be a big PITA.
