Question, Flashing Code 5y5
Just started my 91 Vette that I've already had in storage for the last few weeks and I noticed a flashing "5y5" on the display where normally the avg mpg/inst avg mpg is displayed. It last for a few seconds then disappears, then returns after a minute or two. Any ideals whats going on?

Have your battery checked. Your voltage is going too low from sitting, which puts a strain on your alternator when you start it up. If you aren't going to drive the car regularly in the winter, get a battery tender. If I let my car sit a few weeks I hook up the battery tender for a couple of days before I use it, until I get the green light that the voltage is OK. Your cars computer puts a regular drain on the battery even if you don't use the car.

Thanks All,
Put the battery on a charger lastnight and started it up after a few hours. No "5y5"="SYS" message. Will put a trickle charger on it for the winter.
