Took it out tonight to finally see how well it would do in the snow. I have to say with my summer kuhmo 275*4 it did pretty well with at least 1in of snow.
I took a video of the whole thing but i'm not crazy or stupid so the only bad thing i did was get it about 40degrees sideways for a few feet with almost no gas. 10mph min in an open parking lot. Nothing i couldn't do in the dry pavement anyway.
I feel guilty every time she gets covered with salt. Thank god for fiberglass though. I must say though, its actaully pretty good with a set of decent tires. My impala gets stuck in less than 4in so the corvette is usually what we have to use to get around. I hate the winter... can't wait to move down south,.... just a couple years left
. I love how some people never even take these cars out in the rain. They were meant to be driven! I say as long as you have the ability to control the car, drive the thing!
The last time I saw snow like that was in March of 1993 when I was 13. It usually will try and snow down here once a year, but doesn't stick. Thanks for sharing the pics.
I think that the idea is that you spend so much time polishing the darn thing (suspension, motor, etc.) that one time caught in the snow or rain ruins a lot of work.

Were you here for the snow in December 2004? It snowed Christmas day, eight months before Katrina. That was the most snow we've had in New Orleans in probably 27+ years. It was the first real snow, several inches, I ever remember having down here. I took plenty of pictures of the Vette in the snow too. Too bad they were all gone eight months later.
Winter driving around here is severe on cars. Today I plowed into a large chunk of ice in my honda that was in the middle of the lane. No time to react the SUV in front of me didn't bother to swerve because of the higher ground clearance. It went below my front bumper and nailed the floor board. Had that been my C4 it would have damaged the front spoiler, done a job on my front bumper paint and possibly gone through a floor panel. On the way home from work a 4 wheel drive pickup spun out on the highway 3 cars ahead of me and I was looking at headlights pointing at me (twice) before it came to a rest on the side of the road. Then I passed 2 more beside the highway, one an SUV and one a pickup hauling a trailer spun out beside the highway. Winter sucks and people driving SUVs and 4X4s always think they have more control than they really do. All these spinouts on a perfectly straight highway, they are going too fast for the conditions. But they are good business for those who have a tow truck or flatbed business. Scraping ice off the car, 4 degrees this morning, shoveling snow, heating oil prices, I am completely sick of it already and about 5 months of it to go.

I was living in Mississippi in 2004. Don't remember it snowing there...or atleast not enough to call it snow.
You just gave me the urge to take the vette out and do some donuts.
That was my first thought too. I used to love making donuts in the snow in empty parking lots way back when I lived 'up north'. Now I don't need snow, but a little rain makes it even more fun. Slip, slidin' away!
Man, I feel bad for you guys who have snow. Next weekend I'm going to Texas World Speedway for some HPDE. The forecast is 65 degrees and sunny all weekend.
Want to drive a fun car in the snow. 1970"s Caddy Eldorado. 500 cubes and front wheel drive. I never got stuck in the thing and would even park it up on snowbanks.
