So I'm off to visit the family in Georgia for a few weeks. But along the way I need to drop my 76 off at the house in North Carolina (it needs to get out of my driveway here in Northern VA since with $3 gas I never drive it). Then pick up the 92 out the garage in North Carolina and take it to GA so my little brother can get started on putting the new engine in it (I figured I'd let him do the swap since he owes me for getting him the parts to get his race car back up and running earlier this year).
Yes I know I haven't said anything about my engine build for the 92 yet but it's a monster and details are comming as soon as I can find a willing tuner....
Anyway I should be at my house in NC later today and unload the 76. Then load up the 92 and be on my way to GA tomorrow morning.
So the LUCK part... who has ever pulled an 8X16ft car trailer with a 3400lb Corvette on it behind a Jeep Cherokee before?? Should be exciting.
Will
I used my Jeep Cherokee Limited to haul my 4,500 lb wellcraft from northern MI to Forida and back again a few times. Take it slow because the load is heavier than the Jeep and do stay out or OD. You will not be going through KY mountains.
Be carefull, be safe, WELCOME to Geogia! Where exactly in our great state are you staying? Lots of Corvettes around here and lot of activities as well since we drive them year round.
Thanks guys. I got the 76 to my house in NC and just pulled in to my brothers place here in Hampton Ga with the 92, no problems.
Actually towed alot better than I ever thought it would. The 4.0L Cherokee just dosen't have any power for the big hills but it would pull 70+mph (in OD) on level ground all day. Unfortunatly I-20 from about Aiken SC to Atl Ga is nothing but hills so I was 60-65mph with it locked in 3rd gear most of the way. It also averaged between 13mpg and 15mpg so not too bad IMO.
