Default emblem opinion

I am getting ready to paint my 93'. While getting the body ready I removed all of the emblems, and was looking at new ones on ebay. Has anyone seen a C5 front emblem placed on a C4? does it look good? does it look stupid? What is everyones opinion about changing the emblem?

I wouldn't do it but that's just me. Although I like the C5 emblem more than the C4, my car isn't a C5 and I'm not trying to pass it off as one. The average Joe isn't going to know the difference but a Corvette purist definitely will. Forum member shakedown067 has one on his C4 and it looks nice...maybe he'll chime in & post a pic.

The pic posted a couple of years ago didn't look too bad at all. Since they have the same hole spacing you could switch back and forth.

I don't buy the whole C4 - 5 -6 fight. I drive a C4 and a C2 and were a C6 jacket.

Though I'm far from a purist, this is one aspect of the car I don't think you should change, but that's just me.

Leave the emblems alone. Have I seen it done? Yes. Does it look good? It can look good and a few examples have appeared here before. It really comes down to what you want to do to your car. I suggest leave the emblems alone and focus on C5/C6 performance attributes like brake upgrades and such. Just my .02

If God wanted us to have C5 emblems on our C4's, he would have made it a mandatory upgrade. Exalt in your C4ism!

I like the C5 & C6 Logos much better. I think both look at home on the C4. I've removed the one on the gas lid and will be filling in the holes along with the hood holes when I repaint the car.

Mine is a modified C5 Logo.

I would keep the C4 emblem as the car is a C4.

I did change mine though from the stock painted emblems to, I think the anniversary editions that are chrome.

I just thought they looked better on black.

But it's your ride, do what makes YOU happy and YOU thinks looks good.

hey man, its a free country, do what you want!

Just be prepared though, if you go to a vette car show, or show in general you will probably hear it from somebody!

There it is in a nutshell. "Corvette Purist"!

That is where all the BS between gens begins.

Personally I am a working guy, an Average Joe" who loves cars and especially Corvettes.

I think those crossed flags look great on shakedown067 vette. Hell yes! Do I know it's not original? Yes. Is it a sin? No.

The overinflated egos of self-proclaimed "Corvette Purists" that perpetuate the rivalries.

Like I read in another thread: "What ever happened to having pride in keeping a good older vehicle in top operating condition.

I am grateful to have gotten a great deal on a car that I have wanted for a long time and that it is enjoyable to drive.

There are plenty of great looking Vettes of all Gens, I get excited whenever I see one no matter what year.

It's your car and if you think another logo looks good, have the confidence to do what YOU want!

As we see on shakedown067 s car. Looks good, didn't make me go blind!

I would like to see how many Corvette Purists actually ever get there cars to Barrett Jackson to collect on their investments.

Drive on!

Geesh! It's a forum, you want, need, and expect different oppinions. It's generally the purists that get the last laugh at resale time though. Don't get so worked up about different oppinions, the only one that really matters is mine! (okay, slip, I meant yours!)

Understood, but opinion is one thing and condecsending snobbishness is another. One everyone has, the other we should all try and avoid, no matter what our status in life.

I'm not worked up. I know that when I had my C-6 I looked with admiration at every Vette I saw no matter what year. It's just that everytime I saw a clean C4 I thought, Wow thats a great looking Vette.

Now I have the C4 I wanted so it's all good here. I was glad to unload my paidoff C6 all get good return before they flooded the market.

It's really up to you, post a pic if you change it.

I've been thinking of having no emblem at all there, any pictures of that?
