I found these images of different forum members C4 intakes in another thread.

Is there anyone who could explain to me what the top right and bottom left intakes are and what benefits they offer?

Also the center picture seems to be a standard plenum with the modified large runners.

Are these intakes intended for ultra hi-peformance applications on highly modified L-98's?

The polished standard intakes top left and bottom right are very beautifully done as well.

Kudos to these owners!

Those are super rams. I am an LT1 owner so I don't know the benefits. I believe that top right one belongs to Agent86. You might message him and ask him.

Top right and lower left are Super Ram intakes and those are nice examples. The center are large tube runners. Each is used to get more air into the engine.

So it is probably safe to say that these intakes would benefit a modified engine and are not really meant for a stock L-98.

They look very cool; but for a stock engine going the polishing route would make more sense I suppose.

Nice work by those guys for sure!

The super-ram, mini-ram or large tube runners will benefit all L98s. The intake for the L98 is the intake from a GM 305 motor. The L98 is famous for being choked at both the intake and exhaust.

There will be a gain on a stock engine. Run a few searches in the tech section, there have been many SR installs over the years.

The SuperRam will benefit you, but limited if you have stock exhaust. Open the exhaust and your gain will really show. Add a set of good heads and you will be cooking!

I am running AFR 180 heads, SR plunum, runners and intake, roller rockers and modified exhaust. Stock for the 1985 was 230 HP at the crank. With these mods I am at 285 at the rear wheels which is close to 350 at the crank. I am still running the STOCK CAM and original block, pistons with over 230,000 miles. 13.6 thru the 1/4 mile. Not too bad for an old C4.

Sounds like an Excellent ride!

I love to see people enjoy the benefits of driving a survivor. It used to be that a car lasting 230,000 miles was an impossibility, no less a Vette.

Anyone can buy and enjoy a new car, there is a real satisfaction in having and driving a vehicle that has lasted.
