i own a 96 c/e lt4 and a c5 383 lingenfelter. my lt4 has a zz9 cam 4:10 gears and a corsa cat back. my lt4 pulls very hard in 1st, 2nd but runs out of steam compared to a built 383. on a different note driving my car home from when i bought it a few months ago a guy was playing with me in his mercedes c55 amg ( the car is a 13-13.2 in the 1/4 according to most mags) the driver was 3 cars ahead of me and we were going around 60, he hammered it so i down shifted from 6th to 3rd gear, by the time i had hit 5th gear i was going 130 pulled him by 4 cars. bottom line the lt4 is a great car, getting in and out is a pia compared to the c5 and newer cars, finding a full length header for the car is a pia again compared to the c5, but bang for the buck if you can buy them in the low to mid teens for a low miles car...its a steal and in a few years they will begin to go up in price again.
This might be a bit unfair because of 2 different cars/dynos but heres results of
1997 firehawk LT-4 RWHP Max 280.6 TQ 300.1
1992 Corvette LT-1 RWHP MAX 270.2 TQ 301.0

That is a fairly bad pull for any LT-4, most are in the upper 290's to low 300's RWHP when stock. Obviously some are over and some under, but it seems from reading the article that SLP hadn't installed the LT4 knock module and the car was still using the LT1 ECM/programming as they let it leave, two things that could explain the variance and netted them another 29 RWHP when corrected.
