The light for my electronic climate control blinks...the unit works great but the digital light is intermittent. When I press down on the face or the plastic it works fine but is hard to drive to mom's house that way. Other than sending it to the shop, any suggestions? Thanks!

My ECC works (or not) just like yours. When the light is on I'm happy. When it is off, so what? The rest of the unit functions as it should.
If it really bugs you, you can pick up a used unit for not too much money. The only tools needed for replacement are a couple of phillips screwdrivers and a 7mm socket. My car is an '88. I don't imagine yours is too much different.
I can remove and replace the ECC in about 30 minutes. If you have it done at a shop, there is no way they should charge you for more than an hour.
It does bug me, alot!! I came take it out no problems but I must disagree with you, they cost big bucks to replace, even used. I hope you can prove me wrong. On the bright side, it stayed on all day yesterday and I drove the car 100 miles
