Can you retain stock ride height and get a smoother ride by eliminating transverse stock springs and going to coilovers? I do allmost all my driving on the interstate, like the stock stance but would like a smoother ride on trips. I need a winter prodject, coilovers might be it. What kit would you suggest with ride quallity being the main concern? Thanks Jim 90 ZR1
Coilovers are usually even more harsh. You may be able to get softer springs though. You might want to see what vette brakes and products (vbandp.com) have for replacement transverse springs. I believe they offer a softer ride spring...but it still won't be no Cadillac.
Coilovers provide awesome handling at the expense of ride comfort.
With most you can adjust ride height, but if you're going for handling (why else would you go with coilovers anyway?) you'll want the car fairly low.
I was thinking of coil-overs so that I can get a higher front and 90/10 shocks.
