Black Sawblades
I once saw a C4 here on the forum that had black sawblade wheels on it. Anyone else see it? I would like to see a picture of it if possible.
And which is the better route to go when changing the wheel to black, powder coating or painting?

Re: Black Sawblades (Mr Mojo)
PERSONALLY...i like the BLACK on black. IMO...ProfMLB just needs to get the GS centercaps. ;)
But for the paint vs. powdercoat...the powdercoat would be higher initial cost, but less maintenance...but harder to repair. Paint would be cheaper initially... but less durable... but easier to repair.
The AMold GS wheels on the '94 are painted. They're 5 years old and look new because of the attention they receive. I've seen them just 2 years old that the finish had already gone "flat" from neglect. Guess it depends on how much "maintenance" you're wanting to invest.

Re: Black Sawblades (Alchemist)
Thanks for the responses. I believe it was CJ's vert that I saw them on. I looked at his sig picture this morning and it is kind of hard to tell that they are sawblades. I think I saw a picture from a different angle. But I do remember the car being Yellow.
That black on black picture that Mr.Mojo posted looks great also. I am leaning towards getting a set of sawblades and painting them black.

thats a cool idea...
clean up the rim and leave it polished, then add chrome lug covers and black out the center cap. that could look WAY cool!!!

Re: Black Sawblades (bogus)
What I'd like to know is...
What about the 1993 ZR-1 sawblades? Has anyone fit these to a non-Z C4?
Would look very close to stock if they didn't hang out of the wheelwells too far...or if there was enough stock on the back side to chuck them up on the lathe and face off the back side to get the proper offset for a non-Z C4.
Anyone?

Re: Black Sawblades (Matt Black)
I don't know guys...
The shiny black on the wheels make the dull black on the tires look even duller. If I had black wheels I know I'd be keeping the "tire black" people in business.
Just my opinion...

Re: Black Sawblades (Matt Black)
Matt - since you mentioned the '93 directional sawblades, catch the thread in classified parts where I raised the same question a few days ago and check out the series of responses. I've got a '95 and also really like my directionals, but I'm reluctant to ride with the apparent 1/2 exposure which apparently remains slightly with flares doing their part.
If you go for it, please send me a pic and maybe I'll get try it. Incidentally, I've been told the finish onthe '91,'92 directionals is not the same as the '93, so you're already zeroed in on the right year I s'pose.
