Default Gaskets with EM headers

I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I suspect an exhaust leak, and before I went out and bought new gaskets, I wanted to make sure that the OEM replacement gaskets would fit correctly. (the ones advance auto lists for a 1996 LT4). I feel dumb asking this question, but I'd feel REALLY retarded if I bought the wrong gaskets.

Yup, the oem ones are fine. I went with Percy's dead soft aluminum and they have been great. They have them at summitt. They are re-usable too.

Percy's dead soft #66031 is the way to go.

Reusable gaskets? Hmm, nice! I'll get myself a pair. Thanks guys.

EDIT: I noticed that Summit lists those for the LT1...is there a difference between LT1 and LT4 exhaust manifold gaskets? I know there's a difference in intake manifold gaskets (just replaced those ). Thanks

I'm using FelPro gaskets on my EM's with no problems. You may want to make sure the bolts are tight before you buy anything. I also have the stage 8 bolts and clips which now prevents the bolts from loosening.

I definitely will. And I think I'm just going to go with Fel-Pros from Advance Auto this time. I don't foresee changing my gaskets that much, and $10 compared to $40 plus shipping is a sizable difference.

Justin. The car already has the percys dead soft gaskets on it. try tightening the bolts. Those gaskets shouldn't leak!

Same ones that were used on my car with the EM long tubes. No problems here...
