hey guys,
A little bit of a rookie here, I just figured out that all the codes of what the vehicle comes with is under the center console lid. Here my question, I have a 90 vert and by the coding it came with a 2.59 gear ratio. know if I wish to change to 3.73 or etc.. is it a fairly reasonable job on vettes.

3.73 would not be a good idea on a L98 car, 3.07 is about perfect for it.
The better use of money is to go with a 2200rpm torque converter. That way you can get a similar feel to lower gears.

You buy the TC, whose price really varies. Ballpark is about $4-500 for a good one, more for a great one.
Shop will remove the tranny and install the new one, that might cost another $400.
