Muffler Tips
I noticed that the muffler tips sit a little further back than the tips on the mufflers eliminators I took off did. I did noticed when I started the car up my bumper got a little fogged up from the fumes (It went away when I turned off the car). I never paid attention to this before so maybe its normal. I don’t want to mess up my bumper. Does anyone with stock mufflers notice this or could tell me how far the tips on their stock mufflers sit in past the bumper?
Thanks for your help!

The first pic angle shows the tips looking like they stick out a little, the second pic gives a better idea of original position.

I just put Magnaflows on and purposely had the tips extend out a litle further as not to put soot on the bumper.
If you can, try to extend the tip away from the bumper as much as you like to prevent soot and heat damaging the clear coat.

As stated, mine are no longer on the car....the stock was almost flush if not, back a little.
I would of gotten soot on the car if left in that place....as far as factory?...each car might be different by a 1/4" or so.
I would advise to extend a little...but; because of where your old pipes are, where your "New" mufflers will connect....you have very little adjustment room one way or the other.
yesterday is when I put the Magnaflows on and I bolted them loosely, found which muffle had the least amount of adjustment to be more external, and adjusted the other muffler to match.
It went for me exactly like this:
The passenger side had the most adjustment....so; I adjusted the drivers side as far out as possible (tips 1.5" from bumper), and then adjusted passenger side to match since it had the most finagling room.
If you use band-clamps and not U-bolts, you can get 1/4" more or less adjustment.
