'86E. Noticed it leaving the Golf Course today. Turned the car off and restarted at the first red light, Anti-Lock still on. Brakes feel fine. I didn't even know our cars had ABS.
Check the 10 amp brake fuse. Then call around to Chev dealers and see if any have the Bosch ABS tester which will diagnose your ABS and indicate where the problem is.
The Kent-Moore tester is definitely the easiest way to find out what's wrong in the ABS system, or at least point you in the right direction. It can be any one of a few dozen ABS inputs that set off the light. I bought the Kent Moore tool, If you were local I'd give you a hand with it. Without a doubt you need the shop manual for this. Yes, '86 was the first year for ABS. You will only notice a difference in the braking if you go into a skid - the ABS will no longer pulse the pedal if the light is on, that's it.
Probably got some dirt/mud/whatever between the sensor and the hub.
Changed the Spark Plugs (in less than 40 minutes), took a drive, Anti-Lock on again, Temp now never goes off LOW. Tell me, the Temp Sensor is nearest the Spark Plug that is nearest the firewall on the passenger side isn't it? I thought I felt a loose wire but forgot to find its connector.
Argh!
