i called up some corvette places and all that they recommend is melrose. has anyone heard of them? they look really clean to here is the websit to the ones i want. any input would help alot http://www.melroseheaders.com/produc...eaders/c-4.php
you can click on a pic on the left of that page to see it larger
i've got the melrose system on my 90 l98. came with an X-pipe and hi-flow cats (they use random tech cats from what i've heard).
Thats all buttoned up to my corsa cat back.
the headers are coated and emissions friendly.
they are expensive though.. i can't think of any that are more expensive then them.
On my 95, i put exotic muscle's headers on it. With there header extensions. They fit right in, the extensions will bolt the headers right up to the factory exhaust. No problems. Cost is about $780.00. Thats not including the extensions.
y'all are a bunch of ******.......why do you have to be so rude...some of the new guys don't know how important the profile is...but do you have to beat them over the head with you rude comments???????
well i just talked to the guy from melrose and he told me all about them. but what i am trying to figure out is that if they are worth the money. he told me right at 800. just are they worth it. i like the fact that they only do like corvette heders. but any help would be great
$800 is about the same price as EM and SW, if I remember correctly. Those and Melrose are all very good quality headers; I have EM and am very happy with them. I'd say they're worth it!
I've heard and seen all the big names. I got the EMs but the Melrose finish impressed me the most. The Jet hot coating worked so well that I could put my hand next to the header after a 1/4 mile run and not get burned. The one down fall of the smoothflow system is that the pipe from the header to X-pipe doesn't fit right. If you do a search for Melrose you should find the photos.
on my exhasut that came with the car it is said to be full flowmaster from front to back. i have the big ball looking cats on the front then they go to a center thing then back out to two mufflers. what is the center thing? it looks like a muffler. but it then splits off to two muffler. any help would be great. thanks guys for all the help, and thanks tot he rude commetns earlier to the senior members. rudeness like that just shows true colors. but to all the nice people thanks alot for the help

yeah, about $800 for the headers. I got the system with the x-pipe and high flow cats. I remember it being well over a grand. I didn't have the problems with fitment of the xpipe and clearance like some others have had. There was a pretty detailed post around here that showed the clearance issue.
