I have the melrose headers on my 93 LT1 6spd. and I love them... I made just about 35 RWHP with the headers !cats! and a nice flowing cat back system...

I paid 700 for mine shipped... I got the NON air option... I love them! Ive had them on my car for about 5 months and about 1000 miles and I LOVE them! Sound great and still look amazing!

Any other questions feel free to ask!

THese headers seem like a great deal I was quoted 700 too. Hows the quality compared to EM or Stainless Works.

I've been checking out the melrose headers as well, they really look to be amongst the best. From what I've read on here the rest of the exhaust setup isn't as good though. I'd say get the headers from them and get a local exhaust shop to fab up the rest.

wel when i spoke the the dude at melrose we were on the phone for a while and neither he or his son could understand the notion tha ti just wanted the headers. they kept telling me about the x pipe and the full exhaust. my car has flowmaster full exhaust so i am sure all i need is the headers. but they couldnt understand that. that it would do as well without the x pipe and all this. i still want the headers thouhg. they are right at 800. but someone posted that they got them for 700. where did that person get them from? haha ill take them from there.

Cost on steel went up, check with forum vendor Speed Hound. I think he sells Melrose and might give a discount to forum members.

I'm Savin' up for a full Melrose setup. I like the looks and I haven't heard anything bad about them. The few I've heard that have them, love them. Stainless doesn't work as good for headers as it is does in other places. Stainless expands and contracts too much for longevity on a street car. You're always re-tightening or replacing the bolts. A good thermal (Jethot) coating on mild steel makes them tough to beat and better and lighter than stainless. From what I've heard, their X-pipe works just as well as the heavy resonator while improving flow at the same time. Don't know what mufflers would go good with them though. I guess that's a whole other bag of likes and don't likes.

He also has a forum name "speed hound" that you can send an email or PM to, I don't know how often he checks them though.

Dang, $1400 bucks for the full system. OUCH. That's pretty spendy for a 13 year old car...

well i can understand the cost to year ratio. but at the same time we arent talking about a cavalier or a mustang. this is a corvette. its pride in your car. so i would spend it easily if i had the money.
