Well everything was going good then"Check engine light" illuminated.
Dam.
Used some common sense here instead of panic. Looked up I needed a OBD-II scanner. Just happens our auto zones rent them for free!
Out of instinct I disconnected the battery from the engine, reconnected power then did a scan. No codes, checks good, clicked erase on the scanner unplugged from car. No more service engine soon. took her for a drive all is well. Took 20 minutes.
Just FYI, disconnecting the battery clears codes. The code will probably come back. Scan the code first to see what it is, and then troubleshoot from there. It's not always best to just rest the ECM and ignore the code.

Thats for the info will keep the scanner and wait for that code.
Well that explains it. Make sure the gas cap is tight, though my experience has been that a loose run sets a code shortly after startup and they idle like crap. My guess would be that it failed some sort of "readiness" test. Next time, leave the code so that you can troubleshoot it.

Yes, Thank you for reply the gas cap was the first thing i checked and I could smell gas, so it got on tighter its a locking cap.
Will have to bear with me.
I hope the code does show up again. Car runs fine. Will update if I get another code
Looks like ignition or injectors, but a full scan would help. If you're in CA, a lot of the 300 Random Misfire Codes are the injectors - so much so that Chevy extended a 200k special warranty to avoid a Recall. Cleaning them usually clears it up - which is what they did with my truck when it happened. The point being is it's on their dime not yours.

I noticed a sensor is broken off between the back 2 spark plugs, might have something to do with this.
Sure enough check engine went on again, it is the evaporation canister.
Checked out the diagrams and found the valves next to the fuel rails, sure enough there is a hose missing, found it was a bit short but connected it.
We shall see. Hope that does it. The canister is a is under the rear wheel well.
