I was wondering if either of these innocent looking metal boxes are part of the stock delco-bose-gold-doesn'twork audio system?
So what do they do?
Thanks
-Merrick
The one mounted vertical is the CCM and the other is the DERM. The vertically mounted one is the Central Control Module or Car Body Module and the other is the DERM, Delayed Entry Relay Module. I don't think the car will even start without the CCM and your cars accessories will probably not work right or at all without the DERM.
Your stuck with both I guess, unless you can wire around them, which would.
The CCM on my car also stores the VIN number and the Odometer readings.
Just to be sure you understand, The CCM is for your milage storage and a host of other important functions, like VATS and other things. If you want a better description go to the ZR-1 section and look up CCM.
The other, DERM, Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module, controlls your air bag system. Don't loose either of them. The DERM is nla for 90 mod yr, and the rest of the mod yrs are close to it. The CCM is getting hard to find and I'm not sure what GM plans to do about stock going froward.
The radio stuff is under the glove box or in the well behind the passenger seat....depending upon which yr C4 ya have.
