I want to slowly add on some performance parts. exhaust, Air intake, headers, cam and maybe a chip lastly. will that mess up my gas mileage?? i know a cam probably will but what about the other stuff? thanks guys!

Exhaust, headers, and air intake (which is worthless BTW ) won't hurt your milage. It may even help. A street cam like a ZZ9, LPE 211, CC501, won't hurt that much. Big cam, Heads, Higher Compression can hurt. A good custom chip will be needed with the Cam.
They will all hurt your milage because you will not be able to supress the urge to flaunt all that added power
That's the correct answer for sure!
Lots of performance parts advertise fuel mileage improvement. That's how you convince your wife you need these parts.
The truth is though, with more power and better sound you'll be wanting to take advantage of it more often, which will more than offset any mileage improvement you might or might not have had.
