Default Oops -> Carpet install error

Hi,

Installing new carpet on my 94 and am using true - vette mass backed carpet. When installing the wheel wells I cut the hole for the top rood storage mount a little too large.

Has any one found a way to piece this carpet back together. Also does anyone know where I can order just one piece, I may gave to get the whole rear kit again.

If anyone has been successful carpeting the wheel wells is there any advice to prevent cutting this wrong?

Thanks,

Duct tape in the backside will do in a pinch.

One can usually find individual sections from salvage on ebay for reasonable prices.

Use newpaper and make a template first if the piece you're cutting is difiicult

Siga tape, otherwise known as gorilla tape, will work well. I thin bead of hot melt glue added carefuly to the seam will help it stay tight. Do not apply too much hot melt, or it will ooze up and ruin the nap.

I'll look for the Siga tape. The hot glue was a great idea. Had some handy and tried on a section. Seems to hold OK.

Could have just saved me $300. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ies/yesnod.gif

My knees made it. Back and neck hurts. Thankfully, I was hired as a tech rep by a major manufacturer, or I would be crippled up by my 45th birthday.
