Has anyone used this cover on their steering wheel? Do you like it? How was the install done , over the old leather or did you have to take it off? Thanks

I have them on for a few years now. I prepped first by taking off... edit.. more like peeling off the old busted leather. Wiped it down, then started wrapping the Wheel Skins on, and then threaded it. Within a week, the leather shrunk to the dimensions of the steering wheel. I like them
I have a wheelskin. I put mine on over the old leather. Coolvette is right about it needing to shrink. This picture was taken right after the installation. The gaps you see around the wheel spokes are non-existent now.
BTW: If you have any arthritis in your fingers like I do...you will not want to do the job twice.
I have a chunk out of the leather on the top of the wheel I guess I should fill it first. Any suggestions on filler? I have to repair the bolster hole and was thinking of using the leather repair kit from it to fill the chunk in unless someone has a better idea. I wonder if the skin will tighten up on a '93 wheel if I take the leather off as it was designed to go over the leather or so they say.

The leather will shrink, trust me. Also, I test fitted it around the old leather and it feels too thick to me. That's why I took the old leather off instead of repairing all the worn spots and rips. The Wheel Skins will fit better on the bare steering wheel after a while. Good luck.
P.S. I wish there's a way to wrap or repair the spokes. Mine looked ratty and worn, not unlike the way ZumZum's looks.
My 84 has a Wheelskin on it. Was there when I bought the car. It's on there really tight, so I guess they do shrink. Unless you really know Corvettes you would think it's stock. Has a nice feel too.
I put one on my S10,it has been on for 4 years . two tone like the one pictured. My only complaint is that the Yellow gets dirty easily Other than that its held up well. Getting one for the vette soon
I threaded around the spokes per the instructions and its tight

The way to repair the spokes, use black paste shoe polish. This really works, just rub the shoe polish on the spokes like you were putting it on your shoes , let it dry, then whip off the excess. I have used this on my wheel and it looks great. Give it a try...WW

Hmm, interesting... I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip!

I love it, one of my favorite mods. I did not take off the original and it fit perfect, just took a while to stich up.
