i have been in love with vettes since as long as i can remember, i have also like the 78, but then found the 82. But since i sat in one i found there to be very little space. Head on roof, knees between steering wheel and door :-(
Anyway i am 6 foot 6 inches tall and was told that i would fit better in a C4. Ever since i look at the C4 specifically the 1990 model( cos i like the concave tail and better dash) i really want one of those. After 1990 they changed to convex i think.
My question is are there any guys/gals my height that fit well into C4's.
Also would a manual be okay(with knee room etc...) or would i have to settle for an auto?
I had a buddy here who was 6'6" and he had a convertible C4 that he fit in.
I'm 5'9" and my head hits the roof sometimes, especially with my helmet on.
G'day mate Welcome to the forum
I'm 6'-1" and I have a inch or so head room to spare in my 90 coupe.
You should find one and sit in it as C4's are one of the hardest to get into or maybe a tall forum member will chime in.
ps: you should fill your profile in when you get a chance
Jim
I fit with a lil' bit of room to spare. 6'4" 245lbs. My pacer is a sardine can compared to the '95. Much less room. The '95 is a 6 spd and I have no trouble shifting. Enjoy !

There are several variables here and so it's not as simple as just how tall you are, so the recommendations that you find one to sit in are right on the mark.
Leaving the car out of the picture for a moment, some of the variables are how much you weight and how long your legs are. I'm 6' 2" 250lbs and I fit fine in mine. I've got a friend that is 6' 1" who tried to get in the passanger seat once and his head was bent over, hitting the roof... the problem was he's a very big guy and sat much too high in the seat.
The seats on many of the C4's are narrow and so the slimmer you are, the lower you will sit in the seat, and of course the bigger you are the higher you will be.
You can also gain some head room on a coupe by using a Clear Targa Top vs the Painted Top. The Clear Tops do not have a headliner and so give you more head room.
What size shoes you were can also effect things. I wear 13W and on long drives I have to slide my left foot around the left side of and then behind the clutch pedal to get confortable. It's a bit of a tight fit, but I've done it so much I don't even think about it anymore. A car with an automatic would give me more room for my left leg to stretch without doing this.
If possible, sit in a manual and a automatic car, both with the clear top installed, see how it feels. Even though you prefer the 90 vette, if you have the opportunity, sit in a later 90's C4. The seats are not as narrow in some of the later C4's so you may sit lower. Depending on your build, you might find that putting some later C4 seats would help you fit more comfortably in a 90.
I'm 6'8" and I really have to squeeze in. For me it's managable but I had to get used to my knees against the bottom of the dash.
I find it to be more comfortable if I move the seat forward a little bit (yes, forward) so that I can tilt the back at a greater angle for more headroom clearance.
I know a c5 has more room, but a c4 is what I always wanted so I can deal.
I'm "only" 6'2" tall, but I have trouble with my helmet on for racing. With no helmet it's quite roomy although I do worry I might clunk my head on the main hoop in an accident.
I'm 5' 8 and getting in no problem except smacking my head on the top will I'm falling in, maybe I should wear a helmet while I'm getting in, then once in finally in it seems the car was just built for me!
And I fit into C4s just fine. The only problem is '90-'93 sport seats with controls on both sides are pretty uncomfortable on long rides. So I bought '96 seats and those are just perfect. At <our> size, I think it feels nice the way the car wraps around you.
Also, I have a '90 ZR-1, so I also have a stick. There's not too much room for big feet, so you kinda have to rest your left foot on the clutch, but honestly with feet my size, that's no different from most other cars. I say take one out for a test drive (and don't forget to put the seat all the way back before you get in!) I promise, you'll love it.
Besides, I ALWAYS love seeing people's eyes bug out when my big *** accordions out of a freaking C4 Vette!
