Hello All, Newbie here... with a real PKE mystery on my hands:
This system has acted up on me before but never quite like this. It's got a new fob with a new battery, which is programmed properly as far as I can tell. I've already popped the fuses for the power locks and for the PKE, disconnected the battery at the terminal, and re-programmed the system/fob connection. Prior to this it was acting perfectly for some time.
What happens is: Whenever the fob is within distance of the car, the system locks and unlocks rapidly and repeatedly until you open the door, which you have to time just right. I've successlully trouble-shot many issues with this system over the last 3 years, but this one is making me crazy!
Anyone ever had this happen? Any ideas? Thanks in advance and thanks for letting me in on such a great forum!
Try holding down your door lock button and see if it cycles once. That should be shut off and only work manually after that. To re-enable do the same. Other than that may be a bad fob or transmitter.

Yep tried that too, thanks though. What I'm wondering is if it has something to do with the door switches, because they're locking and unlocking like they're possessed.
I couldn't find anything in the FSM, and I'm real curious if anyone else has seen this before.
Maybe I should call a priest!
Quick a dirty answer is the PKE receiver is defective. Nothing in the car actually controls the PKE, its got its own mind and logic. The PKE drives the CCM to disarm security and such. There are relays in the PKE one for each door. They are activated by the PKE itself or by the electronic door switches. I would not think it would be a door switch according to symptoms.
As for the FOB, the easiest way to eliminate it is to try another one. But it would seem if it were bad it just would not activate the PKE (just an opinion).
Just can’t think of anything else at this time in the car which would cause this external to the PKE.
Thanks for the input y'all... I'm inclined now to A) Agree with pcolt94 and look at the receiver, and/or B) Go with 94ZR1 and forget about it (at least for now).
It really is a cool feature, at least when the planets align just right and maybe the pigs are flying high in the sky , but when the PKE's acting up I've got to admit I feel a little foolish agonizing over it!
