Earlier today I took my car to get a safety inspection. The shop that did the inspection is owned by my high school hot rod buddy. He has turned the shop over to his son.
After everything was done, the kid hands me my keys and said Dang Mr XXX I was 13 yrs old when you first got this car. How long are you going to keep it. Instantly my mind flashed back to when I was 23 yrs old. A fresh college grad, a pregnant wife about to domino less than 3 months after our wedding date, no job experience, no credit, no money. At the same time I fast forwarded 20 years to the day I was able to walk into a Chevy dealership, look over their inventory and say I want that one. While that was running through my haed my mouth reacted with a I don't know?
How long?
I tend to keep my DD cars for a long time with proper maintenance. Since my Vette is not driven daily I can see that I'll have it for a looooooooong time.
If I get another Vette I'll turn my 87 into a track car.
I was looking at your avater. WHERE'D YOU GET THAT BUMPER?!?!??!
I am a vette man for life. I have a 96 black coupe, red interior. I get pleasure at just opening the garage door somedays to look at its seductive lines. . . . . .ahhhhh
