Default 1994 fuel filter replacement

I would like to change my inline fuel filter. Looks like the easiest way is to remove the cat and associated pipe. Do any of you have experience with this or an easy step by step for this job? The manual says no recommended frequency, change it when it plugs, I'd like to get in front of this. I have 40k miles on the car. Thanks in advance.

The exhaust does not have to come down. Get the car up in the air level and supported SAFELY. Pull the fuse for the fuel pump and start the car, let it run until it quits which will get most of the fuel out of the lines. You do not have to pull the cat or any part of the exhaust.

Wayne,

Thanks, it was the top connection that looked difficult. Never thought about using a socket on the bottom (inlet) of the filter to get the top loose. I'll give it a try.

Thanks again
Joe
